20 Things I'm Glad Life Taught Me

Here are 20 things that I personally came to understand and believe in. Your 20 could be totally different. Perhaps you only have 5, it doesn't matter. The key is that you learn from your life, your failures and your successes. Neglect any one of those and you are taking a rocky road to learning and personal development.

1. You must create and look for opportunities: Opportunities rarely ever come knocking on the door of someone who's not seeking them. You have to create and seek opportunities for yourself. You have to take the initiative to get the ball rolling and the doors opening.

2. Negativity will only bring more of it: When you focus only on negativity, obviously that's all you will see. You will not seek out positivity, and even when positivity comes into your life, you'll look for the negative part of it.

3. Where you are does not determine where you can go: It doesn't matter if you're homeless or living in a mansion, poor or rich, or if you have a 4.0 grade point average or "failing", it won't make any difference in the future. There are countless rags to riches stories to back this point up. If you have the drive and talents, you can go anywhere. You create your own limitations and horizon.

4. If you can't help others, you can't help yourself: Even if it's just to hold the door for someone or some other simple gesture, it will do wonders for your life. You'll feel great and you'll eventually be returned the favor sometime during your life, whether you realize it or not. If you don't want to help others, then others won't want to help you, and nor should they.

5. Follow your passion, money will follow: If you have passion and have fun doing your job, then I wouldn't consider it a job. You can focus on creating even more passion for that subject and money will eventually follow you. If you focus only on the money, it won't come because you're focused on the quantity of your work and not the quality.

6. Enjoy yourself: Have fun as much as possible, don't take everything so seriously. Push your worries aside and bring enjoyment closer.

7. If it were easy everyone would do it: This is why get rich quick schemes will never be true. If it was so quick and easy then everyone would be millionaires. Making money and accomplishing tasks is hard work, but well worth it.

8. Planning is good but so is being spontaneous: Planning ahead in business and in life is important but so is being able to quickly change that plan. Various people and events will get in the way of your plans, so you have to be able to modify or forget your plans at times. Be spontaneous once and awhile, it makes life interesting.

9. You have many talents: You may be a talented athlete or musician but you probably have ten more talents you don't even know about. When people find something they're good at, they only focus on that instead of seeing what else they can do.

10. Don't work hard without rewards: What's the point of working hard to follow your dreams if you aren't going to treat yourself along the way. Each little or big goal you accomplish should be rewarded with a proportionate treat, maybe a day off or a big slice of cake.

11. Money does bring happiness: As I said, you shouldn't be chasing money but when you do earn it, you know you've been accomplishing something. It feels great and brings you happiness because you know you'll have more freedom and time to do what you want.

12. Someone always has it worse: At times you may be having a bad day, but stop yourself and think about it; there has to be millions of other people are having a worse day than you.

13. You'll need others: Make as many friends as you possibly can and never burn bridges. You will need others for your success.

14. Being open-minded is the key to more knowledge: If you want to know more about the world you have to be open-minded. Give everything a chance.

15. Failure is great: One of the most important, if not the most important steps to success is failure. You have to fail at least once, but it's better if you've failed multiple times. You can learn so much more from your failures than you could any other way. And when you finally achieve success, you'll appreciate it so much more.

16. Most people are actually nice: This is something I've only recently realized. Most people are nice, but not usually to strangers. Once they get to know you and you get to know them, they will most likely seem like very nice people.

17. Words and thoughts control everything: What you say and think will ultimately become reality. If you say you're going to fail, then you will because you'll find a way to make it happen. If you say you're going to succeed, the same will happen, you'll find a way.

18. Your view is the reality: How you see an event or situation is how it exists. If you see something as tragic and negative then that's what it means to you. If you see something as exciting and positive, then that's what it is.

19. Inspiration and motivation are everywhere: I don't care where you are, there is something there that can motivate and inspire you. You can be at war is some far away country, in horrible conditions, but there will be something there to keep you going and strive for something better. You just have to recognize it and keep it with you.

20. You can change the world: Every single person has the ability to change the world whether directly or indirectly. When you change your life and the lives of those around you, you've changed the world. Small things that you do can make a huge impact on the world.

P/S : Need to find a new book to read to occupy my time, just finished reading Rich Dad Poor Dad.

The Opposite of LOVE

To most people the opposite of love is hate.

To me the opposite of love is indifferent.

People who ruin other people's happiness do not deserve to be happy. Things were perfectly fine until u came along....

Tomorrow can be too late

If you're mad with someone , and nobody's there to fix the situation... You fix it . Maybe today, that person still wants to be your friend . And if u don't, tomorrow can be too late.

If you're in love with somebody , but that person doesn't know... tell her/him. Maybe today, that person is also in love with you. And if you don't say it, tomorrow can be too late .

If you still love a person that you think has forgotten you... tell her/him. Maybe that person has always loved you. And if you don't tell her/him today , tomorrow can be too late.

If you need a hug of a friend... ask her/him for it. Maybe they need it more than you do. And if you don't ask for it today, tomorrow can be too late.

If you really have friends who you appreciate... tell them. Maybe they appreciate you as well. That if you don't and they leave or go far away today , tomorrow can be too late.

If you love your parents, and never had the chance to show them... do it . Maybe you have them there to show them how you feel. That if you don't and they leave today, and then tomorrow can be too late.

Having watched transformers since I was a kid , I know what these words represents,..... pure evil.This is literally true.

Have u ever heard the statement "Your not a very good liar"

I have a tendency to sense when people are lying.It's common sense+instinct.But I've been wrong on fewer occasions so that is why the next thing is important.And that is resource,being resourceful helps a lot in identifying these lying culprits.Coz seriously u don't wanna accuse someone u trust dearly of doing something that they didn't do bcoz that would cause some serious damage.

How would u feel when someone u trust lied to u? Yeah I bet it hurts doesn't it.I can act as if nothing happened but little do people know that I am actually hurt deep down inside. Only a true friend would notice this.Because I tend to hide all my troubles away.Think happy thoughts.

Being 23 means that I have experienced a lot of shits in my life,having traveled to almost every part of the world has also opened my eyes a lot,yes I have my fair share of good times and bad times, been there done that.So when a familiar situation happens again u tend to be good at spotting these things and be careful as to not let people hurt u anymore.It's kind of like a self defensive ability that only gets better through time and experience.

I like it when people are being nice to me meaning that they like me, heck I dont even mind if they don't like me.But whats troubling is when people are just pretending to like u and pretending to be nice to u, now that just ticks me of in a way.So how do u identify these people? And how do we beat them at their own game?

Keeping In Touch

An old friend IM'ed me yesterday.I haven't seen him for more than 5 years, we were closed back in high school.I kinda missed those times.It's really hard to keep in touch with him because he is not computer literate, so seeing him put an effort to find me on the net was a really great thing. I told him before that it's easier for me to keep in touch through the internet coz I'm always around, well not always but hey I make sure to connect to the internet even when I'm travelling.

It made me wonder that keeping in touch with friends can be hard. A lot of times your best friends move away for school or work. But there's no reason why that should mean the end of your friendship. With all the technology available to us, if you're not keeping in touch with friends, then maybe your friendship was not worth maintaining to begin with.

The best way to keep in touch is the phone. If you can't meet with someone, the next best thing is to at least talk to them over the phone. Old friends can talk at least once a week and catch up on everything that's been going on in your lives.

With the advent of the internet, it is even easier to contact your friends when you couldn't otherwise. A lot of times, people can't talk on the phone while they're at work, but if they have access to a computer, they can always be accessible through YM . It is easier now to keep in touch with people via social networking sites like Friendster. You might see in pictures that your friend has been travelling or got a new haircut. You can call them up or leave them a message right on their friendster page and comment on the new development in their lives.

However, keeping in touch with friends isn't just a problem when people have moved away. Sometimes when your friends live just a few blocks away, work commitments or relationships can come between you. Before you know it, you might not have seen your friends in weeks. So make it a point to have lunch or catch a movie together every once in a while.

When people have a lot going on, it can be hard to get together and see each other. But if you make it a point to plan out an event with all your friends, you can maintain all your friendships even with a busy life. It's also a good idea to plan a vacation or a day trip together.

Just remember to take the time of day for your friends. Whether it's calling, or sending a friendster message, or meeting for coffee, any little bit of effort can keep your friendship alive.

It's amazing that I am typing all of this when I currently have loads of assignments to finish. Thesis, thesis, thesis, just the thought of it makes me crazy, well as I usually would say, maybe ~I'm missing someone rite now . Life's not the same without u here.




P/S:My weakness is, is that I get easily attached, and it hurts so much, maybe that shall be my next post.

Krol bought himself a cooler master casing and an enermax 460watts power supply.As for me, I surveyed the price for some stuff that I have been eyeing for quite awhile. *Hint2* Geforce 9600GT. Tengok2 jer x beli pon ;))

Hp Office

Picked up Fatin's broken lappy . Hp's service center is rather crowded. So does this means that Hp's stuffs are easily broken?? U decide. Service was rather good tho.

PutraJaya

Hey has anyone ever heard of Menara Alaf Baru?? I've been to Putrajaya lots of times but only now I'm noticing the so called Monument, call me crazy but I'm sure that wasnt there before, Fatin agrees with me. Krol took us there, according to him its been there since 2000?

How could I have not notice a structure that big everytime I went to Putrajaya.

Once upon a monday

Went back to college today.As I was heading towards the hostel guards, a familiar Satria GTI pass by. It was Mizi and a few other friends.I parked the car and went towards them. They were headed for moderno and they asked me to tag along.

*moderno is a pc shop located in subang which sells pc parts for the enthusiast community

There's 5 of us in the car, Mizi, Wak, Shanaz, Fahmy and myself.Of course the only reason I went was to just hang out with them. Yerlaa orang dah ajak x kan x nak pergi.

Mizi got himself a gaming mouse pad , Wak bought a few thumb screws, Shanaz bought an external harddisk and Fahmy got a laptop cooling pad and a harddisk cooler.As for me I didnt get myself anything, like I said I just wanted to hang out thats all. Rekindling with old friends.

Later as we were heading back to college we made a stop at KFC and had dinner.I've never been a fan of KFC.Then we went to Dunkin Donuts which is rite next to KFC and 'tapau' for supper.

Of course everyone was excited after arriving back in college because they all got themselves something, as for me I headed to my car to take out my stuff.

The keyword here is affection , loyalty towards each other, and altruism.That is how I treat some close friends that i really like. I'm always nice to people that are nice to me, and I treat them the way I would like to be treated as a friend. But how do we know that they are being nice to us sincerely??They may be just using u to fulfill their own selfish ends and they'll forget all about u when u have served their purposed...Im not talking about the friends that i have but maybe just a few or just one.I'm not the type of person to think bad about others, in fact I'm always optimistic.Do we still continue being nice to them even when their not nice to us? When do we draw the line??If u stop being nice, people would think that u guys are having a fight, whereas that is not the case at all. Of course this only implies to close friends.

The Man of Steel

No It's not Superman

Have u seen the latest trailers for Iron Man. I must say it's one of my most anticipated movies for this year, last year being Transformers. Yeah I got a thing for cool looking robots, u got a problem with that?I just hope they dont ruin this movie.The very first trailers on the net appeared last year showing Iron Man in his Mark 1 armour, of course I was rather disappointed if thats what they were going for for the movies. Because the Mark 1 armour looked a lot like the robot from the animation movie Iron Giant.It looked stupid, so very not IronMan-ish.So having seen him in his trademark armour made me change my mind. Wonder if his big photon cannon is in the movie as well.PHOTON CANNON!!! U cant have a superhero movie without a super villain rite, I still dont know whos it going to be, WarMachine perhaps?? P/S: There's a game based on the movie but I'm not going to review it here. Nyeh nyeh nyeh ;))

A new beginning

Its been 4weeks into the new sem, and I must say things are moving at a slow pace. I myself am not in da mood since 1 of the lecturers is not even in yet, my pc is causing trouble and a lot more other things that I am not going to mention here. Heck, I dont even know what I'm going to propose for my final project.

I didnt get a really good result for the previous sem, 3.22 , I know sucks doesnt it. A lot of things happened after that, the good , the bad , the ugly, u name it. I do believe that life has a balance, once good things starts happening for you u must prepare for the worst events to come. And I must say a series of good events have quite happened for me, and a series of unfortunate events are following it after.(No I'm not ready to explain the good and the bad at the moment.) All I'm saying is that I'm enduring it every step of the way and shit happens for a reason.

Its been so long since I've last cut my hair, having dilemmas in whether to cut or not.Guess I'll keep it for another week or so. Serabut dah ni.
